About me
When I started my design practice 20 years ago in Brooklyn, New York, I based it on a set of aesthetic and functional principles: simplicity, beauty, geometry, mobility, durability, and adaptability. From this came the Rollerboy--it has gone through many iterations and adaptations and remains one of the most popular pieces that we make to this day. Many designs have followed under these guidelines; imagining and then constructing functional objects that find a place between architecture and sculpture motivates me. My goal is to build beautiful pieces while pushing the conventional boundaries and expectations of certain materials and fabrication techniques, and to create furniture that can find a dynamic place in our lives.
